Propagation of Coast Redwood (Sequoia sempervirens) and River Red Gum (Eucalyptus camadulensis) for Clonal Forestry

Both Coast Redwood and River Red Gum adapt to vegetative propagation with selected individuals cloned through the tissue culture process. All selected clones are first utilized by Tree Improvement operations for establishment of breeding orchards and field performance testing. Progeny sites, clonal field trials, tests for rejuvenation and operational clonal blocks are necessary to evaluate clonal performance.
