Brown-Spot Resistence Among Progenies of Longleaf Plus Trees


Forty wind-pollinated seedlings from each of 227 longleafpine (Pinus palustris Mill.) plus trees on national forests in Texas,Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, South Carolina, and North Carolina were planted at Alexandria, Louisiana, to test susceptibility to brown-spot infection (Scirrhia acicola (Dearn.) Siggers).
