Biography:

I got my start in the Forest Service as a Forestry Aid on the Lincoln National Forest in the late 1990s. Since my early beginnings as a sawyer and wildland firefighter, I’ve garnered experience in areas including reforestation, restoration, wildlife, forest health, nurseries, and research. I spent 13 years working in the Rocky Mountain Research Station (RMRS) as a Research Plant Physiologist. My primary research focused on improving plant nursery practices and investigating the role of experimental treatments to improve plant morphology and physiology for better outplanting performance. During my tenure in RMRS, I spent limited time serving on the RNGR team as their Tribal Nursery Specialist. In 2024, I was officially hired as a full-time Tribal Nursery Specialist on the RNGR team. I am excited to dedicate my full attention to providing support, technology transfer, technical assistance, and training opportunities to tribal nursery operations nationwide.

I received my B.S. in Biology at the University of New Mexico and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Forest and Natural Resources at the University of Idaho. I originally hail from Gallup New Mexico and am enrolled Diné. I’m currently based in Moscow, Idaho, where I enjoy many outdoor pursuits including hunting, fishing, camping, and bicycling and always love having a good laugh.
